About Brett
Brett Alan Calkins is a graduate of the AFI Conservatory Directing Program. His thesis film Black Whole won Best Student Film at the Windrider Summit & Sundance Film Festival Experience, The San Diego International Film Festival, and the Zions Indie Film Fest. He was also shortlisted for the 2023 CAA Moebius Showcase.
Originally from the mountains of North Idaho, Brett has lived abroad in Belgium and the Netherlands before received his BA in Media Arts from Brigham Young University.
As a husband and father of three, Brett’s films explore stepping through the threshold of parenthood, with all the fear and awe that goes along with it.
His commercial directing work has been featured on the NFL Network, CBS Sports, and Bleacher Report.

When a haunting black hole appears in their yard, a young pregnant couple must face their fears of miscarriage, to eliminate the phenomenon before it consumes them.
